Gleeson Development, Buxton
WATER PLACE TO LIVE!
Historic Derbyshire spa town, Buxton, is the perfect location for a busy working family, combining beautiful scenery and easy commuter access to both Sheffield and Manchester.
It is no wonder then that when a suitable site came along, Gleeson Homes jumped at the chance to build a residential development in the area.
Temple Spa, in Burbage on the edge of Buxton, comprises 41 new homes ranging in size from three to five bedrooms. The development was designed specifically to be in keeping with local architecture and to respect the town’s Roman roots. Thankfully our roofers didn’t have to wear togas to work – the winters can be pretty brutal around those parts!
Martin-Brooks was commissioned to fit pitched roofs to the entire site over a six month period. We used new manmade Harris Rustic slates and glass reinforced concrete ridge tiles across the different styles of townhouses and detached properties, many of which incorporated purpose made GRP dormer units.
The site proved popular with purchasers and our roofers alike, who despite the cold weather enjoyed a unique take on the area’s stunning views.
Size of project: £145,000
Materials: Harris Rustic slates and GRC ridge tiles
