The specialist roofers at Sheffield-based Martin-Brooks are clubbing together with golf loving colleagues and suppliers to putt more money into the firm’s charity fund.
Martin-Brooks is getting into the fundraising swing for its annual golf day, organised as part of its 25th anniversary pledge to raise £25,000 for local causes.
The 18-hole Stableford competition will take place at Renishaw Park Golf Club, near Sheffield, on October 10 and will include breakfast and a two course post-round meal for participants. Martin-Brooks will also be awarding prizes to the winning individual and team of four.
To mark its 25th anniversary, the firm embarked on a challenge to raise £25,000 for nine charities and is now more than halfway to its goal, having already donated £15,000 to its nominated organisations. They are Cavendish Cancer Care, St Vincent’s Furniture Scheme, Sheffield Talking News, The Rowan School, Catcliffe MS Therapy Centre, Amy’s Retreat, Norfolk Park Special School, Sheffield Institute Foundation’s motor neurone research centre and Help for Heroes.
Dale Wright, Martin-Brooks’ contracts director, organises the firm’s annual golf day. He said: “The competition has become an established part of our charity calendar and is popular with colleagues from across the industry. This year’s event is proving to be no exception and we have a strong line up of keen golfers preparing to tee off at Renishaw. It is a new course for us and we are looking forward to the challenges it presents.”
