Growth in the commercial and domestic construction markets has seen turnover jump by 20% at Sheffield roofing specialists, Martin-Brooks.
Figures for the firm’s financial year ending September 2014 show a consistent increase in new business and this trend has continued throughout October and November.
Whilst a general rise in reroofing work and minor domestic repairs has contributed to Martin-Brooks’ overall development, the firm has also secured a number of high profile renovation projects on heritage properties, including Rotherham’s Sandbeck Park, the Magnus Building in Newark and Lincoln Castle.
Martin-Brooks director, Nick Brooks, said: “Business is up every month on the same period last year and this has been a constant theme, without the seasonal peaks and troughs we usually expect. We attribute this in part to having a mild winter followed by a dry summer, enabling us to complete jobs more quickly, but it also reflects the general recovery in the construction industry.
“On the domestic side of our business, turnover has increased by more than £100,000, demonstrating homeowners, once again, have the confidence to carry out improvements and essential repairs. We are not quite back to the levels of work experienced before 2008, but if we continue to see increases at the current rate, next year is looking very promising.”
