It’s really great to hear how our fundraising efforts are benefiting the organisations we support.
In December, we distributed £4,200 among six local charities – £700 each – and they’ve all been in touch to let us know what a difference the money is making.
At Sheffield Talking News the funds are being used to convert listeners to memory sticks from CDs and in some cases, tapes, while the Friends of the Rowan School are investing their allocation in custom-made bicycles to help pupils get out and about and enjoy activities that other children take for granted.
For St Vincent’s Furniture Store, Amy’s Retreat, Cavendish Cancer Care and MS Therapy Centre (South Yorkshire) our donation will continue to fund their core work, which includes supporting families coping with cancer, MS and other neurological conditions, plus providing furniture for the vulnerable and those coming out of homelessness.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet up with representatives from each of these fantastic good causes over the festive period and we’re thrilled to be helping people in need across our region.
We have now raised more than £20,000 as part of our charity challenge. To help us reach our £25,000 target, or for more information, contact us on (0114) 244 7720.
